How to unshield tokens, retrieve non confidential tokens?

To Unshield tokens and redeem your native tokens, similarly to the shielding process: navigate to the “Wallet” section in the side-bar, click the “Shield” button of any tokens of which you want to unshield your confidential tokens.

At the top of the “Shield” pop-up, click on the “Shield / Unshield” toggle button to switch to “Unshield”. You now have to “Reveal” your balance if you haven’t already done so elsewhere on the platform.

Sign the encryption message on your wallet interface by clicking on Confirm.

Once revealed, you will now be able to write in the amount of tokens that you want to Unshield and click on confirm to move on to the two step process.

Firstly, you will need to approve the funds that you want to Unshield. Click on "Approve Funds" and open your wallet interface.

Confirm the approval transaction by clicking on Confirm.

Now click on the “Unhide Tokens” button and open your wallet interface to accept the transaction which will exchange your confidential tokens for native tokens.

Accept the transaction on your wallet interface by clicking on Confirm.

Click on "Go to My Wallet" button to get back to the wallet section.

Two new transactions will appear after a few seconds. The first is the Unshield Fee which is treated in a separate transaction. The second is the Unshielding transaction itself. It will stay in a Pending status for up to 2 minutes while the exchange of tokens is being made (confidential tokens for native tokens).

Once the transaction status of the Unshield transaction has updated to Success it means that you have received the native tokens. You can reveal your transaction amount.

Your native token balance will have updated to reflect the new amount.
